Kajang Satay Gallery

Open on March 26, 2009, the gallery is within the mini-complex located next to the Medan Sate Kajang and displays artefacts, information panels, audio visual guides and dioramas tracing the history of satay in Kajang back in 1917. Satay was introduced by one Tasmin Sakiban fromJava,Indonesia. Tasmin arrived in Kajang in 1914 via Sungai Langat and  pioneered the satay business in 1917. There are many stalls in Kajang now but most famous is Sate Hj Samuri who has successfully franchised the satay business with outlets in Kajang, Putrjaya, Subang, Sungai Buloh and Senawang. The wife of Hj Samuri us a direct descendent of Tasmin, the pioneer of Kajang satay.
